Nitro/Carbon

Nitro/Carbon is a card game which pits 3 or more players against each other in a war of composting. No actual knowledge of composting is needed, though for those interested, one page of the downloadable file explains what composting is and why it's important for us.

The game is short, half an hour or less for most tables, and requires nothing more than the rules themselves and a standard deck of 52 playing cards (minus jokers). This game is not an RPG, although you are invited to act out your trials, tribulations, machinations and achievements as you so desire.

Game Features:

• Easy accessibiility but a moderate skill ceiling for those who wish to pursue it
• Minimal monetary investment: the game is free and if you don't have a deck of cards, that really should be remedied immediately
• Turn-based gameplay which is simple to follow but enforces choice and consequences as players compete over limited resources
• An absurd premise -- cut-throat composting in an apocalyptic disaster scenario -- which we can all use for a laugh in these times of actual potential apocalyptic disaster
